We done did it again. A few of us got to thinking about how to make the Interwebs more video chat-able. You all know about video conferences in Meebo and Digsby, yes? Well, all of us are also Facebook users. One day a light bulb exploded over our heads and we decided to go big and add video calling to Facebook chat–on our own.
But how do you do that?, we asked. With a super-duper Firefox plugin. That’s how. Ron and I took to the task of making it happen with some common plugins already available. When I took the project over full time, little did I know I’d be cooking up a whole new TokBox-only plugin from scratch.
The result: a dyn-a-mite plugin that enhances Facebook’s already excellent chat service with seamless video calling. The responses have been way positive and we’re officially celebrating the plugin’s public acceptance by the Firefox team.
Get the plugin. Read the news. Keep the feedback coming.
How to use the Facebook plugin

Absolutely fantastic, I can not imagine a better add-on, easy to install, just plug & play.
Congrats for the incredible tool!

How about one or two native social network applications in addition to the gigya widget. I understand the cost savings by using gigya or ClearSpring, but it is easier to trust a FB app when I trust FB and TokBox already. Putting gigya in the mix makes all dialogs a lot more confusing.
